Set within 15 minutes walk from Church of San Domenico, the hotel was also close to many city attractions. Cortona Old Town neighbourhood deserves to be explored. There was free parking.

Excellent location close to the Siena train station. Walking distance to Ristorante Tonino, where you can have lunch. We went to see Accademia Etrusca and piazza garibaldi nearby...
Everything great.

The views were amazing
The front desk staff was not very friendly and very quick to get rid of us.

This is a very good budget hotel. It's basic - there are no frills. Our room had a view over the courtyard and the valley towards Lake Trasimeno. The "double" bed was really 2 singles pushed together with a queen sized fitted sheet holding it all together! But it was comfortable. The bathroom was small and had a shower (which we didn't use because it looked like it would soak everything!) We enjoyed the staff members (when we could find them). They were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was continental and on one day was almost "wiped out" before we got there. It seems that some guests make up lunch sandwiches using the rolls and cold meats offered at the breakfast buffet. The rooms are clean with very few signs of wear and tear given the age of the building. It was a former monastery which gets back to our "basic" comment.
The staff were hard to find. It was as if the hotel was being run like a hostel with specific hours when staff were available. But this is not really a negative - we just came back later. The hotel is located in the lower part of Cortona and it is a bit of a hike to get up to the main square.

A beautiful, serene view of the valley and lake from the three windows in our huge room. It was quiet, not so far walking distance up to town. well worth the savings and very private. The breakfast (optional) was really generous and soooo very good. There were fresh hot croissants, meats, cheeses, yogurt, real juice, cereal, toast, wonderful coffee, tea and hot milk, water.....etc.

We were travelling light by motorbike and basically just looking for a place to sleep - the room was enormous if spartan, the views magnificent and the breakfast more than sufficient. For the price we obviously weren't expecting luxury and given that Cortona is an expensive town we found the hotel an excellent choice.

Absolutely great place for short visit in Cortona. Nice , quiet room (cold in August even no air conditioning in the room). Great view from the yard. Free car park. Close to the center but out of it.

Casa Betania is located walking distance from the centre of Cortona and enjoys a magnificent view from its yard. The room we stayed in was very spacious, simple & lovely.
The staff could have been a bit more smiley and the prices reviewed since Casa Betania is indeed lovely but provides basic accomodation. The breakfast was also poor..

The location is great and the view from the room and the terrace is amazing! The building is old but the decor of rooms are amazing and fits very well into the whole picture of Cortona! Cool bathroom with nice view! Staff very friendly but doesnt really speak English..
Extremly hot during the summer, needs at least a portable a/c otherwize you cant get any sleep!

Casa Betania was close to Cortona, but finding it was a challenge. The room was clean and the facilities adequate, but for the price you would have expected much more. There wasn't anyone around which is nice until you needed something and then who would you ask?

Good location, friendly staff and optional breakfast. Beautiful surrounding.
Rather dimmed and cold room, probably because of the boulding character - a former monastery.

It was an adventure and sleeping in a monks bedroom with fantastic views was a bonus. Very laid back although the breakfast was poor I would certainly go back!as such good value for money for anyone who is on a budget.
Breakfast was pretty poor, tasteless cornflakes, tea and melba toasts. And diy filling kettle etc...that was my only complaint
